Hmmm...

Crap, this is inconvenient. Shouldn't be happening like this...really shouldn't. Too soon. *sigh*

Summer...(or winter for some)

I'm not one for words today (especially after last Saturday night at Velvet - in my defense it's been a hell of a long time since I drank that much ~circa over a year back) Pictures say enough. I enjoy the company of my friends...

Freak Storms Hit KL

Okie global warming is definitely screwing around the weather systems. Mother nature's got a stick the size of the Petronas Twin Towers one end on top of each other stuck up her tush. I woke up this glorious Saturday morning on the 22nd of July all chirpy and all and she just decided to fuck with me today.

So here's what happened. I got all dressed and ready to go catch a movie but as I was having a smoke on my balcony I notice black clouds and freaky lightning streaking across the horizon and it's like some scene from one of those Hollywood disaster movies. I shit you not but that storm front just crossed over the hills in Taman Tun and what not and was moving straight passed my condo. Lucky thing had enough sense to close all the windows and what not but heck man wind was howling like mad and rain water was even being forced in through the window cracks and not.

Trees were being uprooted and there was even a point where it was like a curtain of pure water slamming into my window. I had bloody plastic bags and some fat ladies grandma undies smacked against my window and I was like gee, maybe the world is really coming to an end. An entire window pane from the block next door's lift area got ripped off its hinges (it was on the 9th floor I think) and a branch was sent through a window in the lift area on the 5th floor (my floor) smashing glass all over the place. 3 trees were brought down: 1 in front of the guardhouse and the condo's exit/entrace, another just a few metres away and one right in front of the driveway of the carpark. No one could get in or out of the place.

I have never seen any shit like this. My entire kitchen and balcony area was flooded, debris all over the place and thank god I cleared my cat's litter box just this morning or I would have had cat poo all over the place as well. Spent the whole frigging afternoon cleaning the place up and washing the cars which were all covered in leaves and mud.

So here's a lesson, don't fuck with mother nature. She can be pretty bitchy at times...

Lack of H2O

Okie the last thing you need after a whole day at work followed by a 100 balls at the driving range and mamak with colleagues is for a water cut. I'm all freaking sweaty and icky and in desperate need of a hot shower. Damn irritating...water better be back in the morning or I'm screwed. Off to the poolside I go for a quick cold shower and then back to my good ol' bed...

Shopping in KL...

Well after countless efforts in trying to get Jessie and Wei Wen to go shopping with me for stuff (okie so I only asked twice and they were busy), I decided to go alone. It's been a damn long while since I've actually felt the need to update my wardrobe. Not trying to be all girly and all but yeah even guys do need to buy stuff yah. We just tend not to do it so often and try not to take too long in making decisions.

That being said I've noticed something vastly different when it comes to shopping for work clothes and the sort in KL. Simply put, there's a lack of selection here and a balance between nice and affordable. The truly nice stuff are either so bloody inflated after I do conversions and what not to pounds it would have been cheaper back in good ol' London. Needless to say my lil "outing" to KLCC proved to be pretty futile. Wanted to get some cufflinks and ties and maybe a shirt or two. Don't think Malaysians aren't really into cufflinks considering that there was practically nothing nice around the whole damn place. And those I considered remotely possible were like freaking RM800 and above. Like screw that man, I used to walk around Covent Garden and complain bout 30-50 pound cufflinks being too expensive. Crap lar over in KL its much worse. Needless to say didn't get any.

As for shirts, nice shirts are hard to come by and they aint cheap. Wasn't going to fork out 400 bucks for shirts from Raoul. So ended up shirtless. There was a sorta pre-sale going around in the shops tho but all the sale items were really crap. Like Armani had 40% (which made them a very affordable RM250 - RM 275) off on their ties but they were like so dull and as usual with anything Armani, came in shades of grey, black, silver and blue only. So I was starting to get really pissed before I decided to go to Burberry. I kinda made it a point earlier this year to stop shopping at Burberry but I guess I've always been partial to their stuff. I don't know why okie. I just am. Maybe its the Brith culture rubbing off on me, tho in my case I'd prolly fall into their "chav" category. lol. But in any case something did catch my eye and I think I just said heck it and just got it lar. At least they dropped the prices on their ties in KL which was a relief. Still prolly could have got the exact same tie for about 70 bucks cheaper if I were in London. But heck.

*Note* I just realised how girly shopaholic this post is... aint good...

Time's so darn precious

We all used to want to grow up so fast. But now that I'm 23 and working I wish I had more time to get my other stuff sorted first. Well technically I did have all the time in the world earlier, just never used it wisely. Heck only thing to do now is look forward and make the best of what's to come.

Haven't been blogging much cause I've just been too busy with everything. I come back from work and feed the fat cat, do some house keeping and well catch up with friends. By the way I never had to do too much ironing during uni days cause it was simple. You grab your clothes from the wash and chuck it on the rack nicely in front of the heaters and you basically have a sorta steam iron effect. Wasn't the best way to keep stuff non-wrinkly but it was good enough. Now being back in Malaysia, ironing work clothes is a bitch. I miss my parents lol. I farking hate doing laundry. Sigh another 3 weeks till parental units are back and I don't have to do laundry lol.

Work hasn't been to terribly exciting. It's been okie so far. Am pretty lucky that my current team is a fun bunch. Actually surprised how well I got along with em so soon. think being there's gonna be alright after all. It's still early days so let's see how it goes. Just thanking god at the moment that my next project isn't the Labuan one...lol Poor Suef tho :P Can't imagine myself being in Labuan for 3 - 4 weeks. Think I'd go mad over there. Apparently there's almost absolutely nothing to do.

In any case I'm glad the crew's slowly trickling back. Cham just got back a couple days ago. Met up with her for coffee with Suef and bless the aunty she bought me alkie...but the wrong ciggies. Anyone wants a carton of dunhill reds? Chris is back on Wednesday and I expect the drinking and pokering and the usual bbq sessions at his house will start up again. Nick will be back the week after apparently and then the golf kaki crew will be complete. Think Lims and Su will be back within the next 2 weeks too so yeah. All accounted for cept birdie...but birdie just messaged that she'll be back for a couple weeks. Just not sure when. God damn I really do miss the London peeps. I miss London.

The English Rose Falters....once again

Well I admit that watching them go down in penalties was disappointing. But in all honesty I don't think they had what it took to win the World Cup anyways. Maybe they would have made it to the semifinals or even the finals. But the team never looked like they had that extra "it" factor to take the cup back to England. It's a shame but heck, I'd bet that most people thought the same too, even the Brits. Oh well, such is football...
